I am among the vast array of people whose Christian living has been made far happier and more meaningful by Doug Mark. I was honored to celebrate his Funeral Mass yesterday alongside his remarkable family all of whom I dearly love.

My only clarification to the superbly written obituary, is to explain that he was not an optimist as much as he radiated hope.
In contrast to many who are tragically tethered to the world and the fleeting objects it offers, Doug impressively kept one eye on eternity all-the-while he worked the plow.
Full disclosure: I called him Mr. Mark and did so with deepest affection and admiration.
As a genuine Christian, Mr. Mark let the light of everlasting life break into and illuminate everywhere he trod.
Despite an extremely disadvantaged childhood, Mr. Mark came to discover his true identity at an early age and dedicated his life to help everyone discover theirs; namely, we are immortals walking across the earthly stage. He passionately yet gently invited people to grow in understanding and to see more clearly, elevating people to a more abundant living this side of heaven.
The virtue of HOPE makes this possible. As a virtue, God ever graciously pours divine power into us enabling us to see beyond the world or, more precisely, to see the world as it always is: God’s miraculous creation in which we are blessed to live now in anticipation of the splendor of Love Alone.
Keep hope alive!
