Despite our deep flaws, America remains that shinning city on the hill. We are a people particularly blessed by God. And with divine blessing we also receive from God the real responsibility to see each other – however different in beliefs and appearances – as brothers and sisters.

Ours is a nation where we can vote against each other, however we cannot hate on each another.

Hatred is a deadly sin. Jesus’ warnings regarding hatred are as uncompromising as they are alarming.

Hatred is a manifestation of unclean spirits over whom Jesus gives us authority in today’s Gospel.

I renounce the evil spirit of hatred in Jesus’ Holy Name!
