In John’s Gospel, the “world” is precisely where God’s creative and saving love is experienced (John 3:14-21).
Some Christians mistakenly see the world only as the breeding ground of evil. While ungodly things do happen and afflict all of us, the world is the very place where God’s Glory is able to be seen in the beauty of His creative genius and through His love that we are able to give and receive.
Jesus’ “lifting up” in the Cross makes known to us the victory of divine love. Gazing upon the crucified Christ, we begin to understand just how much God loves the world.
This week, work to keep your sights set squarely upon Christ Jesus Who came so that we might have life to the full.
