Christ the King Parish is the largest Catholic community in Toledo, joyfully knowing Jesus and making Jesus known. Christ the King School is the largest pre-K through Grade 8 parochial school in the 19-county Diocese of Toledo, shaping students and families with Gospel values that inspire intentional disciples, generous leaders, and faithful citizens.

Position Summary
Christ the King Parish and School is seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Director to exercise a leading role in the daily management of financial and administrative functions. This position involves overseeing all financial aspects of both the parish and the school including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Finance Director will also be responsible for the Human Resources functions of the parish, ensuring the parish follows best practices in hiring, onboarding, compensation, benefits, policy implementation, conflict resolution, corrective action, and compliance with all employment laws and diocesan policies. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the Pastor, Principal, Finance Council, and other stakeholders to determine the annual budget, manage benefit programs, and supervise parish employees.
The Finance Director is a key contributor to the continuing culture of excellence of Christ the King Parish and School.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
·Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, best practices, and policies
·Oversight and implementation of the parish and school financial control environment
·Collaborate with various departments to align financial goals with overall parish and school objectives
·Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts
·Budget development, monitoring, and reporting
·Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and relevant diocesan policies
·Manage compliance with parish and/or other audits
·Implement and maintain efficient financial systems and software
·Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial partners
·Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
·Prepare and present precise and timely financial reports to the Diocese of Toledo, Pastor, and Finance Council
·Effectively communicate financial information and provide variance explanations to the Pastor, Principal, Finance Council, and pastoral services leaders
·Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
·Work with the Principal, School Council, and Finance Council to determine annual school tuition and fee amounts
·Monitor tuition, incoming payments, reimbursements, and school scholarship payments
·Collaborate with the Pastor and Principal to monitor various collections, expenses, and reimbursements

Administrative and Human Resources
·Maintain accurate personnel records for the parish
·Coordinate insurance and benefit programs for parish and school employees
·Update the Parish Employee Handbook and provide new employee orientation
·Monitor parish employee time-off requests
·Act as FMLA administrator and inform employees on FMLA benefits in compliance with statutes
·Supervise parish employees not directly accountable to the Pastor or Principal
·Serve as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Finance Council and Endowment Board of Trustees

Qualifications
·Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of accounting experience
·General understanding of accounting principles and preparation of financial statements
·Supervisory experience and human resources experience strongly preferred
·Exceptional leadership and communication abilities
·Skilled in collaboration with senior management teams
·Practicing Catholic living in the heart of the Church
·Comfort with systems in general (QuickBooks or other ERP, Excel, Word, etc.)
·Excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills
·Ability to meet deadlines and interact collaboratively with both internal and external constituents
·Process confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
