SALT and LIGHT were understood to be the Law until Jesus takes the old and reboots it:
- “You [read: genuine disciples] are the salt of the earth.” (Matthew 5:13)
- “You [read: genuine disciples] are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14)
Jesus expects – no, Jesus demands – that His followers make the world a better place. Of course, the “world” is wherever we are and with whom we are.
This Lent, I especially am encouraging us to commit to being better disposed for Sunday Mass in order to receive more of what God desires to pour into us in weekly worship so we can make the world better.
Imagine the positive differences we will experience and help make happen if this Lent if we dared to committed to arrive at every Sunday Mass:
- EXPECTING TO ENCOUNTER GOD
- WANTING GOD TO CHANGE ME
- SEEKING DIVINE GRACE AND MERCY
- EAGER TO DO WHAT GOD SAYS
