4 Simple Steps to Connect with God When I am Anxious

“Do not be anxious about anything.” — Philippians 4:6

That can feel easier said than done. When anxiety takes hold, our natural human response is often to try to lessen or escape the uncomfortable feelings. But as people of faith, we’re invited to a supernatural response is to connect with God.

How do I connect with God when I am feeling anxious? By practicing these simple and repeatable biblical steps – what we call Relinquishment.

Begin: identify just one situation that is causing anxiety.

Step 1 = Admit to God what you fear most about this situation that might happen

Step 2 = Place the situation into God’s hands

Step 3 = Tell God you will accept whatever He allows to happen

Step 4 = Acknowledge God’s ways are always better than ours.
