Today the Church places before us the remarkable person of Elizabeth Ann Seton (d. 1821) whom we tenderly refer to as “Mother Seton.”
Making good on my pledge from morning Mass to the assembled faithful, here is Mother Seton in her own words from an except of her writing in the Office of Readings:
“Well, then, the first end I propose in our daily work is to do the will of God; secondly, to do in the manner He wills; and thirdly, to do it because it is His will.”
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Mother Seton, pray for us!
