Advent marks the astonishing intersection of memory and hope. We seek to remember what God has done and this encourages to place ourselves anew in His presence. As we recall the absolute goodness of God, we more eagerly go to meet Him.

Advent’s purpose is to awaken our memory of God having arrived among us as a child. As memories of God’s goodness rise to consciousness, hope grows.
