Our God is ever the God of Surprises!

A Chicago born priest who hails as a citizen from both Americas and belongs to the Order of St. Augustine with impressive pastoral and missionary experiences has been elected Bishop of Rome and taken the name Pope Leo XIV.

Our God is ever gracious and worthy of all our love!

Celebrating his first Mass as Pope earlier this morning with the cardinals, Pope Leo sounded the call to seek continuously to deepen a relationship with Christ. He unabashedly clarified that without faith, life is meaningless.

Pope Leo spoke cheerfully about Jesus, our Savior, who alone reveals the face of the Father.

“In Jesus – God – in order to make Himself close and accessible to men and women, revealed Himself to us in the trusting eyes of a child, in the lively mind of a young person and in the mature features of a man, finally appearing to His disciples after the Resurrection with His glorious body.”

Our God is a God who desires beyond imagining to make Himself known to us, so that we can know, love and serve Him.
