As Jesus enters into Jerusalem, he knows his enemies are lurking among the people and that they will succeed in changing their ebullient acclamations of “Hosanna!” to ugly violent cries of “Crucify him!” Jesus could impose himself upon them by unleashing his divinity and unmasking his opponents and their devious intentions. However, most spectacularly on display is Jesus’ resolve to not conquer or rule by force. His Kingdom is founded of love. This and this alone is The Way he has revealed himself to be: the Way of Love.
